Good morning;
A cold windy day here in Red Deer today. The weather man is calling for thundershowers in the am. I do not know if it will get hot enough in the morning for thundershowers. I saw a magpie and a crow do their little dance. The crow was trying to drive the magpie off, maybe because the nest was close by. The birds were in an old scrag dead spruce and the magpie just kept hoping for branch to branch. The crow was no match for the agility of the magpie. I saw the mallard drake over by Spruce drive bridge. The hen must be on the eggs. The chickadees and finches were silent when I walked for coffee at Timmies at about 8:00 am. The blue jays were also not heard. It must be the weather. At first light a crested waxbill sang in the the trees by the house. Boy those birds have a beautiful song. Well bye for now, the Jay man.
